My name is Eric Troy and I am a deadlift addict. Actually I’m addicted to lifting heavy things in general. I plan to keep right on feeding that addiction as long as possible.
To that end, through many years of mistakes, injuries, research, experimentation, observations, more mistakes, more research, and so on…I’ve figured out a few things, most all of which are related to me being able to enjoy my addiction for years to come.
I’m a strength trainee, and strength trainer, and an enthusiastic supporter of “corrective” exercise.
This blog is meant to fulfill a number of purposes. To announce articles and news about my main site Ground Up Strength. To expand on things presented there. To provide a signpost to excellent resources. And generally blog about my thoughts on training in general (which I will keep to training rather than giving a minute to minute summary of every breath I take).
I will try to make the blog as worth reading in it’s own right as possible and not just a collection of links to my site or other sites. If I fall short on that promise, it is not for lack of trying, but for lack of time. If you like what you read here and want new things then go to GUS (that’s what we call it) where there will always be fresh stuff (i hope) including a forum where you can post your thoughts and ask questions..
You might find that the answers you get there are not garden variety.
Thanks for visiting,
Eric Troy
